When Alex Rider discovers his uncle Ian was killed while serving as a British spy, not in a car accident as he had been led to believe, his life as an average teenager is upended. Alan Blunt, the head of a secretive MI6 division known as The Department, approaches him with a revelation: Alex has been unwittingly prepared for the perilous realm of espionage since childhood. Coerced into probing his uncle's death and its link to the assassination of two prominent billionaires, Alex grudgingly adopts a new persona and infiltrates Point Blanc, a secluded boarding school in the French Alps. Ostensibly designed to reform the rebellious offspring of the extremely wealthy, Alex uncovers a sinister agenda orchestrated by the enigmatic Doctor Greif. Alex finds himself embroiled in a deadly scheme that he must thwart at all costs.
