HeatWave immerses players in a sandbox survival strategy game set in the year 2080, against the backdrop of a climate-changed Alaska. With global warming pushing humanity to the brink of collapse, it has triggered unprecedented migrations and stirred internal conflicts. Consequently, the US government has made the tough decision to abandon the isolated territories of Alaska and redirect their efforts toward preserving the mainland. In response to this situation, the Russian government, with support from China, seizes the opportunity to expand into more habitable regions. They initiate an invasion of Alaska, once a Russian colony. In the face of oppression and hostile colonization, the people of Alaska unite to form guerrilla groups, determined to repel the invaders. The underground American resistance emerges as the underdogs in a fierce struggle to protect their land and secure their freedom.
