For six decades, artist Jimmy Grashow's intricate woodcuts and fantastical sculptures in cardboard have graced many galleries & museums. His work has been featured on album covers and in countless publications including Rolling Stone, Esquire, The NY Times. Jimmy's wildly inventive & irreverent works stand in contrast to the inner dark side & fear of mortality that have haunted him since childhood. At age 79, Jimmy is offered a commission by an art collector who has a strong faith that is different from his own. The result, an intricately carved sculpture of Jesus carrying a cathedral on his back, tormented by demons at his feet. In Jimmy & The Demons film we witness Jimmy’s incredible devotion to the craft of woodworking and the creation of his magnum opus. For four years, Jimmy dedicates everything – time, labor, creativity, passion, love, at the expense of his health – to that singular vision: an intricately carved sculpture that, in the end, almost becomes a self-portrait.
