In the Concrete Sea, an endless grey wasteland beneath a sun that never sets, consciousness is a resource. Angels farm humans for it, brewing it over centuries into Prima Materia, a luminous orange liquid that can be distilled and most importantly, consumed. Mana is a Mind Digger, someone who carves psyches for a living, extracting and eating what others don't want to carry anymore: guilt, fear, memories.
Her self-contained existence collapses with the arrival of Girin: the rebellious daughter of an ancient Angel, dropped at Mana's door with a simple request to "fix" her, in exchange for an infinite supply of Prima Materia. Girin's untamable nature doesn't make things easy, but it's what lies deep inside her mind that scares Mana. Something old and protective is waiting, something that recognizes Mana for what she is and that has no interest in letting her anywhere near Girin's core.
